[Movies] Zemeckis Wants McCartney, Starr For Yellow Submarine Posted by Ashish on 11.08.2009
Will the original Beatles legends participate in remake?
Director Robert Zemeckis has approached Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr about participating in his upcoming Yellow Submarine remake.
"We haven't gotten the word yet on the two surviving Beatles, whether they're interested in doing it or not," he told MTV News.
The film is being described as "a 3-D performance-capture adaptation" of the original 1968 film.
"The Beatles have always been a great source of inspiration for me," he added. "I think it's a perfect example of a movie that can be re-envisioned in the digital cinema and be absolutely beyond spectacular. I call it, 'Yellow Submarine: The Digital Trip!'"
Zemeckis did say that he will go forward with the film even if McCartney and Starr aren't involved.

Always been a fan of Zemeckis, and I don't have a problem with his computer animation stuff. Yet. But this is a terrible idea. Theres no way he could get Starr and McCartney both to jump on board, and even if he did, its still a big waste of time.

He won't get it. Ringo has already said he's done. Paul might be a bit more willing.
I just don't think it should be done.
